On February 25th, climate experts and business and environment leaders will lift the lid on the Paris Climate Deal and what it means for businesses at an event being organised by Planet First.
'Beyond Paris: The Climate Deal and what it means for me', will examine the outcomes of the Paris summit and discuss the next steps businesses can and should be taking.
Keynote addresses by Jane Burston, head of Climate and Environment, National Physical Laboratory and member of The Planet Mark Advisory Panel, and Marcus Pearson, Environment manager, DP World, London Gateway, will, respectively, provide first-hand accounts from the UN climate conference and on how Britain's newest state-of-the-art megaport and Europe's largest logistics park is responding to the deal.
"Last month's deal in Paris, which agreed to keep the global temperature increase "well below" 2C and to pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5C, was indeed historic," said Steve Malkin, ceo of Planet First and founder of The Planet Mark. "But now the dust has settled, it is time to understand the far-reaching implications of this deal on individuals and businesses alike."
The evening will also offer an opportunity to introduce The Planet Mark's Advisory Panel, which includes:
•Simon Cox, First Vice President, Project Manager & UK Sustainability Officer, Prologis
• Professor Martin Fry (MSc, CEng, FIMechE, FEI)
- Dr Craig Jones, Circular Ecology.
They will join Jane and Marcus for a panel discussion, which attendees will be able to pitch their questions to.
The event, which will take place in London on the evening of February 25th, will also provide an opportunity for business networking.
"We hope you can join us for what promises to be a highly informative evening and an opportunity to network with like-minded businesses," added Malkin.
