Sustainable Development Summit
A Sustainable Development Summit held on 25th February 2013 brought Morrisons and Travelodge
(the occupiers), Land Securities, McLaren Group and the suppliers along with sustainability partners
Planet First and SBP together to highlight the value of the suppliers’ involvement in making Sussex
House as sustainable as possible.
The suppliers were given an introduction to the opportunities of carbon saving and increased sustainability on this project. They were also given an explanation of how Sussex House would achieve The Planet Mark certification. Community engagement was also discussed and the suppliers were made aware of the involvement of schools in the local area as well as the work with Cool Earth to conserve part of the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest.
The summit provided suppliers with an opportunity to share the actions that they would take towards achieving sustainability goals both on this
development and as a business generally.
